The Cycle

Keep Your Circle tight,

Think to Yourself

Are They Really Worth The Fight? The Fight For Your Life?

All Of Those Sleepless Nights,

Yet Are They Going To Be With you For The

Rest Of your Life?

Because When the “Innocent Victim” Twists the Knife,

Your Friend Will Become Your Enemy,

Before You Know It, you will relate to them as a frienemy,

A Once Upon A Time,

A Person Who You Thought You Could Look Up To, Admire And Turn To,

Why did it take you so long to realise their greed?

they used you as a part of their feed,

Their selfish sense of need,

Let’s Be Realistic, Nobody In Life Is Majestic,

They Use Majestic As A Front,

A Force Of Power Against You.

We All Know Your Not Blind,

Because In That Moment You Were Able To Use Your Mind,

To Find The Meaning Behind The Crime,

In Such A Short Space Of Time,

You Realised What Was Down The Line,

You Looked Behind You,
Looked In Front Of You And Looked Beside You And Realised That The Only Person You Needed In The Circle Was Yourself.

(2014)

I wrote "The Cycle" based on previous experiences and emotions which built up over a period of me therefore this poem is very sentimental to me.
