The ant in the dog dish

I was asleep when I saw a big, black ant
it stared at me with it’s beedy eyes and, feelers
hanging in the air.
It lived in the dogs dish swimming on a floating
pecie of the dogs food.

It smiled and, waved at the dog and, the dog sniffed it
and, then licked it and, the ant went flying through the air
screaming’ No, you big, dumb dog!

It fell through the crack in the floor and, we never saw it
again because, it took a vaction.
I woke up, yawned and, stretched like a cat and, went about my day
drinking my coffee and, writing.

Sometimes I'll write short story poems like this
to get kids interested in poetry or, writing fiction
since writing can be about anything.
