Something New
Time to turn over a new leaf,
get a new hair cut.
Lose that extra 30 pounds.
Stop being scared, and just do it.
Lose the Peter Parker glasses,
maybe I’ll fight some crime.
I need something different in this life,
to bring me back to life.
Sometimes just when you think
there’s a light at the end of the tunnel,
it seems too far away.
I should go outside, in this cold night,
bring in a cold wet leaf, hang it upside down
in my room .
Just watch it turn and turn,
gold, yellow,
red, orange,
rusty brown, copper hued.
I got to stop being scared, and just do it.
Turn my life around.
