Falling/dancing

As I felt my flayed flesh in stale air
Peek a singing song in my upturned soul
A tiny singeing hope began to kneel in me
ON/OFF   COLD/HOT
Sweeping memories to me
Christmas, birthdays, and all those
Weathered days springing with joy
Beneath the bouncing stars
I lay out of my body; cringing, watching, waiting
Awoke; sweating from a dream
While peeling myself from a dreary state
A star twinkling above my right eye
Fist shuddered I moved in heaven puddles
To a greater symbol in my left heart’s whisper
As I stood in my sinking ankles
Grasping every blackened edge I could
And swimming it out to the far off sea
As it beckons light from those tiny castles
Breathing I curled that night
As embraced that eternal ME
And gave no thought of tremors
That lay in jack-a-dreams tremulous blanket
But swept myself clean and curled the night away
As I could maybe priest those morning rays
And wake refreshed to dancing in the cement again
