“Mary-Mary”

Call Me

Sometimes poetry can be something other than words; (e.g. poetry in motion) Well, recently I had the privilege of encountering poetry personified. I attempted to obtain one of those free 'Obama’ phones, well, as it turned out, someone had the same idea before I did and used my identity. Now, I think that this person that was helping me, is actually named Maria. But everyone just calls her Mary. (Or vice-versa) The reason I know this is because for the longest time, I had heard everyone call my Mom, “Mary”. And then one day years later I saw one of her business cards and it said “Maria”. My Mother incidentally, is the inspiration for the poem “My Forever Rose”; so imagine how impressed I was to encounter this person. Not only did this person go waaaaay beyond the call of duty to try to help me acquire a phone; which  ended up taking up to fourteen hours over the course of two days, and ended up speaking with a regional supervisor in Battle Creek, Michigan or wherever it was. And subsequently, no, I did not get a phone. But the tenacity and perserverence in which she approached and handled the situation was far above compassionate; not to mention maintaining a level of professionalism, she did not miss a beat with the handling of all and any other perspective clients. Activating phones, checking eligibility, etc. And did I happen to mention that she is drop dead gorgeous? She possesses the kind of beauty that intimidates men and in days of yore, kingdoms have been waged. Yet has a smile that could warm the coldest heart on a blustery September morning. You know how some women are so beautiful that you want to bring them flowers...? Well she is the reason that flowers grow in the first place.

Now having said all this, it has just occurred to me that she has the necessary PIN for me to acquire my phone after said phone company has cleared all this mess up. And in my defense I would just like to say, in no way shape or form was this written to hurt your feelings or embarrass you. If any part of this offended you in any way, please accept my most sincere and deepest apologies. I meant only to express my respect and gratitude for your efforts and commend you for the grace and poise in which you conducted yourself. Thank you Mary, I would wage my kingdom anytime.
