Winning the War

I’ve come for the battle, of right to live;

My weapon of choice, to possess something to give.

I can speak volumes, without making a sound;

Though so spiritually lost, thought never to be found.

The armor within, so battered and bruised;

My only victory can be, that I can be used.

Forever and a day, chases a setting sun;

Time and again, if peace is to be won.

I can say not, for you must make your own choice;

But to defend your heart, as the ocean is moist.

And so nourished by tears, yet seasoned with years;

My purpose now disclosed, to allay your fears.

Taking up this battle, need not necessarily be fought;

For the prize is love, and just as easily taught.
