Baby Turtles
Is there anyone out there who can do a passable David Attenborough impression?
Turtles have no mothers,
they are born in sand
where they crawl and struggle to the surface
whilst their shells harden.
Their mother has long gone,
obtaining a good head start into the big blue
..by the time the first cracks appear in the egg
mother is an ocean away.
This is an evolutionary trait
as baby turtles are annoying little fuckers.
Mother turtles can’t abide the tiny bastards
and by burying them deep the mother gains
another thousand miles before
the baby turtles even realise they are turtles.
Baby turtles do not have “abandonment issues
