Twighlight

Twilight the blue sky fades to grey we’ve had a glorious day.
Golden yellow sun always there,
Burning my back and bleaching my hair.
And bleaching my hair.
The sea holds an answer I feel as I lay,
Watching the ebb and flow of the sway,
Gently caressing the sands of the shore,
Take me away with you,
To warmer climes
And happier times.

Lazy the mood which obscures time, sipping my vodka and lime.
Knowing its progress as darkness’ approach but I don’t care very much.
No I don’t care very much.
It is still warm here outside and within,
Memories stroke me again and again,
Feelings inside say I still am ok,
Even though you’ve gone away,
To another face,
A happier place.

And I know the answer lies not in this world.
I know the answer lies not in this world.
The answer lies not in another girl,
Or boy.
I don’t want to be nobody’s toy.

So now you’re leaving me here in this place go with a smile on your face.
Another day is ending, life is moving on.
Nobody’s losing here.
Nobody’s won.
Nobody’s won.
I can move out of you and into me.
I can allow you to let me be free.
I can take your cue and move down the line.
Have myself a real good time,
With other folk.
Cos life is a joke.
Life is a joke!
