Book Covers

Never judge a book by it’s cover?
Want me to bow to your proverbial regurgitation?
Keep spitting your self satisfied sayings you frothing philistine
I’ll judge a book by it’s cover
I’ll gaze at the wrinkled spine
the slight bend corner
the mildest of tea stains on the side of the pages
pouring again as you flick through it
I’ll judge by the smell of the pages
wisdom and love and slight decay
I’ll judge a book by all that makes it a book
and I’ll judge your smart arsed comments
because that’s what we do
judge and judge as we see more and more
guessing and experiencing as we build a picture
of judgement editing it little by little
there is no last judgement
