(Not So) Rotten Apples

Not so rotten apples
fall down from the tree
On father gravity
The burden be

It was fate i swear
whispered the tree
My branches are strong
enough to support me, see

not so rotten apples
shiny burgundy
surrounded by his brothers
on the floor in trouble deep

when the tree it took its form
it promised shelter warm
prefab jewel
safe from winters cruel

But the wood was hollow
swallowed all it’s truth
buried deep
night-owls soonly creep

Not so rotten apples
On the ground
when they fall they hardly make a sound
cushioned by the fall of sisters great and small
bruised
we’re going round and round

All the rotten apples on floor
memorium to  those that went before
the tree gave up on them you see
just like the tree gave up on you and me
