Roots

Frizzled are they, and lay damp and dirty,
Born are they to breathe and breed in the grime,
Bitter are they to taste, so put to waste,
But the fruits they bear are sweet to taste!

Neither the mighty nor the tiny of greens,
Have ever lived a day without,
It’s neither in the tender leaves nor in the beautiful flowers,
But it’s in the knotty and frizzled where the beauty lives,
In the unseen roots where the life of a tree hides,
And the immortal soul rests and breathes!
