SHES JUST AS FAKE

She hangs to her sweater sleeves
For dear life it’s her only way of
Feeling safe,

Safe from all the words they say
About her as she walks down the
Hall alone, hiding from reality is
All she’s really known,

Beside her no one will stand
Because she’s weird or not pretty
Enough for their standards she
Isn’t fake enough maybe if they
Realized how much she had to fake
Maybe this society full of just that
Would accept her
                         —I am she
