48 So What

  48? What the fuck!
Isn’t life suppose to suck?
As a kid I was always told,
There’s nothing good, when you get that old .
But it really hasn’t been so bad,
Still can do the things I one time had .                                                                                    I can still work all thru each day,
And pretty much, I still feel ok .
So I’m not the person I use to be,
But he lives on inside of me .
I still like rock music, turned up to loud .
Or being lost within a crowd .
I may still drive a bit to fast,
Ill still compete, hate coming in last .
Yea I’m 48, but each day I see,
That teenage boy, that grew to me .
He is the shadow, that’s by my side,
He pushes me hard, he’s not here for the ride .
Aware of the climb that’s yet to come,
We will race till I’m 80,
And maybe then some?
