" Finding Heaven In Hell "

I was raised in a asylum, and kept in the dark.
I’ve never seen a ocean, nor walked in a park.
They labeled me crazy, on the day I was born,
From my mothers arms, instantly I was torn.
All I’ve ever known is concrete and steel,
The scars on my body, and the pain that I feel.
There’s a hatred in me that blackens my soul,
But also there’s love, that no one will know.
I don’t know how, it found its way in,
And to explain what it feels like, I don’t know we’re to begin.
Such an alien feeling, from here where I sit,
Four walls and a cot, its been hell in this pit.
But one day a guard, he gave me this book,
And with hatred I thru it, after having one look.
Why would I need a bible, someone such as me,
In the corner were it landed, I left it be.
And days went past, then those turned to weeks,
But times in the darkness, that book seemed to speak.
It called from the corner, face up it did lay.
Voices in the darkness, asking me to pray.
So I started reading, and prayed every night,
And from the darkness inside me, slowly came light.
And it took awhile, to break evils spell.
But that’s how I found heaven, while living in hell.
