" Nothing Will Grow "

“ Nothing Will Grow”

All hearts that are ripped in two, are started with just one tear.
And all mistrust is started with a lie, that seconds before wasn’t there.
The death of a love will hold both of these, then one persons heart will break.
pain they didn’t think they could feel, eats them with every breath they take.
loves sickness takes its hold, and drops them too there knees.
You swear if they would just come back, and beg them baby please.
But this time they don’t turn around, this time they just walk away.
And the one that was still in love, crumpled on the ground they lay.
Dirt moves around them, them and there labored breath.
With pain so deep inside of them, they cry out to god for there death.
They want so to stop feeling, there body is racked with hurt.
There future flows out with there tears, and soaks into the dirt.
Now nothing will ever grow there, that spot in the soil were they wept.
The earth somehow protects it, and the memory of loss there is kept.
I was there many years after, were the tears of my lover did flow.
And although the ground was still damp , nothing ever did grow.
