I stare
as your lips fade
words fall
My sweet Jewel
are you speaking to me...
Your face melds
with the tunneled haze
that envelops me
once again
Suddenly
I’m standing
on the edge of this vast
empty hole
below
is the weepy dark
cavernous place
I frequent
where my fallen tears
are concealed
tears for the sweet ember
within my womb
that perished
In all my gifted espial
this little soul
passed on
the crucible of pain
I bore alone
Now
many years later
the crucible that never
wavered in its intent
For you my Jewel
must also pass
within its fire
The hole evanesces
as does the static haze
Your lips still moving
ebony tears
streak your face
your words
pour agony into my bones
tares out my heart
and takes me back
to the stillness of night
to that black weepy place
empty
but for our tears
in the quiet
your hand takes mine
and there in the darkness
our sorrows
amalgamate
