Rain On My Doorstep

I watch each and every raindrop fall into the puddle I the driveway. Also the ones hitting the birdbath in my grandmother’s garden. Listening to the slight breeze tap the screen door open and shut. I can see where the sky opens up and the sun shining miles away.  Patience is what I must need to get through these rainy days. I love the rain. But when it becomes never ending you begin to get weary of the damp environment. So as I sit here and waiting for change I remember that you must change internally before anything can change externally. So I sit on this swing bench my grandfather made before I was born. It creaks every time I push it back and squeaks every time it goes forward. I can handle it for a while but it can become irritating. So as I sit here and wait for the sunshine upon the flower in the garden and the warmth fulfill the air I sing a soft melody to get me through the cold weather.
