For Sarah 2

Remember when we loved each other, and I wrote about it?

Take a bite of the apple, take a bite of my neck,
It’s the taste of emotion that keeps her in check
And her self preservation, it makes me a wreck.
I’m struggling to stay awake.
But I prop my eyes open with support for her needs
Cause my dreams show our time, how it waits and it bleeds.
Now my gardener’s gone, so I’m nothing but weeds.
I’m struggling to stay awake.

How do we come through when we know that we’re trapped?
How do we feel when our limits are tapped?
How do we live with our consciousness snapped?
We adapt We adapt We adapt We adapt

No more tug-o-war, no, let go of the rope
Else it becomes the noose that destroys all our hope.
I’m running out of mechanisms to help me cope.
I’m struggling to stay awake.
I don’t want to play second in your fucked up band,
All I wanted was you to not let go of my hand.
But I’m fighting against the folly of Rand.
I’m struggling to stay awake.

How do we come through when we know that we’re trapped?
How do we feel when our limits are tapped?
How do we live with our consciousness snapped?
We adapt We adapt We adapt We adapt
