I Like Cutting Onions
For Sarah, who proved to me that I had never been in love before
I wrote this for my future wife. You will notice that most of my poems are from 2012, which is also when I began writing my book. This was the year I met my fiance, who makes me happier than I ever have dreamed of, even as a hopeless lovesick romantic teenager dreaming of something, someone, who was meant for me. She exceeded all of my expectations, and it gave me the clarity I needed to write. And, coincidentally, many of my poems are happy, which I don't think ever happened before I met her.
