Two Ships

For small people with big imaginations.

Two ships are sailing in the air,
Their anchors raised, no shadows cast
To show me the direction where
Their hidden harbors lingered last.
Bearing away, or beating to?
I see no purpose, nor do I
See billowed sails or hopeful crew;
Only the softness of the sky.
I gaze amazed with open mouth
At flying vessels soaring free;
Now gliding north, or is it south?
Or are they floating aimlessly?
Sail high and fast, eclipse the sun;
Fly ye toward lands yet unknown.
I’ll wait here, my life just begun,
Wishing to fly where you have flown.
