Madison Askin

Done

How fragile are you,
I’m so reckless.
You let me past your iron bars
and I gave you more scars.
But you hurt me, too.
My skin is so thin and so pale
that just one slice will do.
You left my remains
rotting and decaying in an alley
over one little mistake.
Silly me, so naive, so brute.
The apology caught in my throat
and will forever stay
because you did me worse.
Now you wave goodbye
as I pass in a hearse.
