Trust

He took a vow. In a church.
In front of his friends, family.
That he would remain loyal and faithful.
Yeah, tell that to the mistress.

She said
we would always remain best friends.
Then she met him.
My existence grew irrelevant.

He said he loved me.
It was so obvious
When his hand acerbically met my face.

He said he was sorry
that he would never hurt me again.
That worked out well when he fucked every girl in sight when I wasn’t looking.

He said he liked me
wanted to me to be his.
He like the others
Lied.
It’s all in “the game”.

He told me he wanted something with me.
A week later he’s dating somebody else.

What do these people all have in common?
They all said, “You can trust me.”
Silly me for believing them.
