Insulin Infants

To Vi and Rosey

Rose and Violet Our Darling Daughters

Our cheeky impish kids aren’t like others
Yes they laugh, play, skip, joke and squeal
Ride their bikes, play with toys and dolls
Have fun and play with their crazy mates
And have an happy fun time growing up
But our daughters need constant tending
A watchful eye, patience and lots of care
Looking after em so their needs are tended
And they are always safe, well and healthy
Daily and nightly the care goes on and on
With everything that they scoff and drink
We must diligently administer their medicine
Insulin to our babes to keep them celubrious
Coz our kids arent like others, they’re ours
Ours to love, ours to cherish and look after
And how brave they are, and have accepted
Their daily struggle that is child diabetes
Constant monitoring of blood-sugar levels
Blood tests, lows, highs and threat of coma
And being woken in the middle of the night
To drink sugary drink so all is well til morn
They have taken it well and quickly adapted
And never complain about the stress, hassle
Or inconvenience caused by this blood prob
Couragously they’ve taken it in their stride
An inspiration they are to us, full of love
Full of mischief and laughter, and smiles
Their spirits are truely strong, irrepresible
The burden they have to bear won’t beat em
We’ll be strong by their sides, we love them
Ours diabetic daughters ever precious to us
It is true that we are proud to be their parents:-)
