A DAY WILL COME

A Day Will Come

I see the sadness in your eyes
I feel the agony in you
I pity you
Yet, I cannot help

I watch you from a distance
Shivering in cold at night
Walking bare-foot in the street
I wish I could help

“Look at him”,
I tell my mum, feeling sad for you
But like a passing wind she ignores me
“Leave him alone. ” She says

But no!  I can not stop staring
Staring with great sympathy
I wish a day will come
A day I shall be able to help you

That day,  together we shall eat
Dress well, look elegant
Agony, from you I shall erase
And make you smile

The streets will cease to be your home
The sacks your blankets, never again
The bottle of a yellow fluid,  away you shall throw
When that day comes
