Poem: Wake

Desperately hanging on the edge of my dreams
I listen to the lingering whispers
Her voice so sedate and soothing
Her hands so warm
Her body inviting
Please, don’t wake me up.
Bathed in the soft glow of candlelight
I can still see her here
The essence of her lingers and whispers
Her words of love.
Has reality faded into dreams?
Or has dreams finally become my reality?
Please, don’t wake me up.
My body begins to awaken with my mind
It must be a dream
Because I can still see her here
Please, don’t wake me up.
Slowly moving together
Her hands caressing my face
That soft silken touch
That makes me sigh
Even in sleep
Please, don’t wake me up.
Her hands sliding along my arms
Silk scarves at my wrists
Outstretched she ties them to the bed
Soft kisses along my neck
Please, don’t wake me up.
Her soft kisses
Along my lips
Riding on that dream cloud together
Lips together in a deeper kiss
She tastes like the sun
Hands untied, arms wrapped with each other
Soft whispers of love.
Please, don’t wake me up.
