Sometimes I forget that this is life
That tomorrow may come
but yesterday is already gone
Sometimes I forget that I am real
and the things I say, and things I do
people hear, people see,
and some times they care
Sometimes I forget how to smile
that I just want to cry
something eats me up inside
Sometimes I forget that Im not really sad
that some days are pointless
and everyone can feel bad
Sometimes I forget it’s okay not to laugh
to think something isnt funny
and let the awkward moments pass
Sometimes I forget that it’s okay to stare
that with a face like yours
its harder not to
Sometimes I forget that its hard to sleep
I am up until 4 AM
and dont realize until I wake up at noon
Sometimes I forget that its okay to yell
to feel angry, to get mad
and not just let it soak in
Mostly I forget that I’m here
that I matter to someone
that I could be anywhere
And in moments like this
I forget someone cares
enough to love me for me
its a sense that is rare
I forget that Im kind
and deserve something great
just like any other person
I forget that Im loyal
and wonder why someone
would deal with my shit for a lifetime
I forget that Im honest
because even the most trusting people
may never spill their secrets
and I forget that Im not alone
because wherever I am
you are with me
