I admire your smile
even though I know its fake
For everything you’ve gotten hidden behind it
and all the ways you’ve let me in
to know you, to learn you
to always want to keep you
Its courage and its perseverence
Its a look into the future, the way you know you have one
One that will be worth living
And its these things you gave me
These things you taught me
The things that will always keep me here
I had lost my senses
and I lost myself
But you gave me direction
You gave me clarity
But most of all you gave me trust
and truth
Something I’ve never felt until now.
And I will keep it forever.
