This mind cannot take much more
These hands of mine are not made for war
I drop my gun and fall in defeat
Who knew dirt and soil could taste so sweet?
Bombs go off once last time
My legs start to shake as I begin my climb
I turn around to see my enemy’s face
And as I stare, I fall back into place
The barrel pointed in between my eyes
I wait for the trigger to be pulled but instead she cries
Staring intensely, I give a smile
Letting her know, it’s been awhile
She smiles back with a tear rolling down her cheek
I waited for a while, waited for her to speak
She opens her mouth but nothing comes out
And that’s when I had my doubts
She hands the gun over and Walks away
My enemy is leaving, I want her to stay
I run right towards her, with a bleeding heart
But the gun goes off and it sets us apart
I lie on the ground with my bleeding
Arm
I wasn’t going to hurt her, I meant no harm
I lay on the ground, crying in pain
I check my pulse then look at my vein
Bombs go off once last time
My legs start to shake as I begin my climb
I turn around to try and see my enemy’s face
And as I stare, I fall back into place...
