Happy 16th Birthday
To my Lab Partner, Peti
I understand that good grades is a fact.
And that there is no time for you to slack.
However, you have to find a few minutes to relax;
Because time passes by quickly before you can chillax.
And mistakes are part of the learning process.
Although your mind may give in to the stress,
Realizing and Correcting them will, nonetheless,
Demonstrate that you’ve made a huge progress
Lastly, today is a very special day;
One which you’ll keep on replay.
And I just want to say,
“Happy 16th Birthday!!!”

She's a bright student and understand the concepts that were being taught well. But once the test comes, she makes small mistakes and second-guess herself. Therefore, the test result always put her in a bad mood. Although we don't really know each other well enough besides being each other's lab partner, I wanted to tell her that everything will be alright. And since her birthday is getting near, I decided to write this poem as an encouragement for her - telling her that making mistakes is fine and that it is part of life. Also, to be able to realized her own faults is a very significant step in turning her flaws into strengths.
