rough and smooth a pathway of friends
and foes alike
where you find it in the moment smile
happiness makes its home in your heart
infectious the smile you give
soon will grow on other faces
spreads along the pathway
joy and contentment
and gracefully step aside
de stress yourself smile some more
your yellow brick road
yours to absorb to explore
none but happiness indeed
our mothers had for us
infused with her affection
conceived from love we were
nourished with care we were
in her womb love and joy together lived
we absorbed and continue to explore
as we screamed our way out greeted with rejoicing
instant empathy felt intuitively
an innate sentience for happiness gift from above
can only flourish and be shared
heart to heart sharing living together
