butterflies metamorphosis freedom hope
Dali’s Ship
trouble showed its ugly head
when people endured the long wait
under a torturous sun
beating on their backs
to cross the threshold cast their hopes
a better life wish lined up for long hours
melting under the sun foreshadowing
Conrad’s heart of darkness
people remain scared and rightfully so
troubled times beget all kinds of fears
year twenty twenty two manifestly
a Salvador Dali’s camembert
a return to the safety of the world
once known the innocence of their youth
nurtured by their mother’s breast
even if only in dreams
indeed a nightmare it had been standing under a punishing sun long hours of wait
testing the strength of one’s will one’s soul
to cross one of the unforgiving rivers of hell

to get comfort refuge from the trials of life
the one cherished the most a dream
the one whose heart a reflection of theirs
the one the immortals from the Mount nodded yes
had been trashed by the serpent horned trolls from the black dungeons of the cyberspace

a wish put on hold on a day under an innocuous promising pink sky
