I see poems that need to be written scrawled in the shape of your smile and the lines of your face
It must be a wednesday or a friday or any day at all for I am painfully aware of the wo… that consumes me
The road is long and winding like nothing you can imagine Too many off ramps to count but too few in hindsight
If nature were so flattered by poems written with itself in mind as people are we would be moving mountains
Hope in another form but no fewer letters and I’ve been hoping for these past eight years so I’ll just keep on
I see words screaming for attention etched in the lines of your face Let me look closer
Under the weight of life I forget how to breathe and I feel suffocated I hesitantly make peace with the world
You asked what I knew about you and I thought up a list of twenty things
I would write a sweet poem and title it with your name if I loved you at all
I say hello and you say nothing You may hear me you may even think of a response
There is poetry in nature better left to be spoken wordlessly by the breeze
My heart was paper now folded six times over to make it harder to tear I only hope that
I awoke from a deep sleep and knew the reason was to write I love you
I awoke in the dark next to you and more alone than ever I was amazed to hear your heart beating from
I have whispered your name into the air so many times it has become the breeze that blows
