A Drive to School

Some days,
The sun just hides itself away,
And there are no clouds or rain to cover it.
The sky is painted
In perfect greyness.
As the smoke seeps from the chimneys,
And the masses plug along,
And the cars splash the puddles of yesterday’s rain,
As we all move along.
And the sun hides itself away.
The morning
Is weeping
Itself from
The steady slumber
Of mercy
And hope.
