tempest fire licked wall

you could smell it
like it is smoldering
under the shavings
then it eats its way out
and sharing with the wood
its intent, it has to oblige
smoke freezes to the wall as it rises
then drips and feeds the fuel
the smoke rolling now
a natural bug repellent
roaring tides climax
reaching above its head
the crash of one
has a domino effect
leaving stains on the shirt
to be remembered later
the salt residue mixed with carbon
leaving sort of a finger print
for the other to trace
and copy into text books
education they call it
experience, they cry
smarter with the share
and holding of ones hand
helps them through the fire,
as the wall cries out
it’s agony, or bliss
as it is the first in line
