Chasing Dreams

Remember when you were young? I do.
My dreams, I wanted real.
I thought in time, that in my life,
that luck, would seal the deal,

Made strong a path towards my success,
to bring to life, those dreams.
Swore to myself, I would excel,
to whatever that may mean.

Golden are the gates, where all wishes found.
Where golden hearts and dreams-of all things, be bound.

Sympathetic to this cold world-I was,
So young, and still naïve.
Gave chase to a life of so called, “love",
but left hurt, and so deceived,

Laid waste I felt after this fall, with hopes and so much dreams.
Still thought in time, that in my life,
my dreams, would become real.

Golden are the gates, where all wishes found.
Where golden hearts and dreams– of all things, be bound.
