Learning to Love Again

Give me your attention, just a moment of your time,
I need to release some of the clutter fogging up my mind.
Observations lead to opinions and then assumptions,
I’ve noticed that the way we all live life is not how we should function.
Interpersonal relationships are tainted with greed,
And instead of our hearts, it’s only ego that we feed.
Somewhere along the way we all forgot that love is all we need,
and it’ll take some time for us to grow, but we should plant the seed.

We all just need to take a step back and breathe,
but we take every opportunity that we get for the anger to seethe.
I hate to say it, but we’ve lost sight of what life is all about,
and I don’t wanna do this anymore, so now I’m signing out.

I never knew what real love was, until I lost it.
I never knew that there was good in my life, until I tossed it.
So many of us taking everything we have for granted,
with my self included, I don’t know how we all seem to stand it.
We need to release these demons pulling all our strings,
and unlock the potential that we all have as human beings.
Compassion is a sympathetic consciousness of others distress,
And when we work to resolve it, we then realize we’re blessed.

We all just need to take a step back and breathe,
but we took every opportunity that we got for the anger to seethe.
I hate to say it, but we’ve lost sight of what life is all about.
But I’ve still got way too much more to do here. I’m not signing out.

Turning my attention to the tension between lovers,
Letting petty arguments and foolish pride destroy eachother,
If you only could just remember that your bond is what’s important,
Let the harmony return, and let the differences be sorted.
See to me the best thing there is in life is love’s connection.
Two souls becoming one, intertwined in their reflection.
I renounce my selfish ways. I renounce my foolish pride.
And I commit to leaving my heart open, letting love inside.

We all just need to take a step back and breathe,
and take every opportunity we get to let the anger leave.
I’m glad to say, I’m finally learning what this life is all about.
There’s so much left for me to give, until then, I’m not signing out.
