I grew up in the small town of North Fork, California. I graduated from California State University, Fresno in Spring, 2011 with a B.A. in Mass Communications. I completed two years of my television work experience by working for WQAD News 8 (Moline, IL) as a production assistant, Video editor, and Photographer. I'm currently back in North Fork and continuing work with Vendetta Pro Wrestling, while also writing poetry. Besides writing poetry and professional wrestling, I have filmed and edited a variety of other things. These include documentaries, weddings, graduations, commercials, short movies, and other sports. I hope my Poetry lights up someone's day or helps them in some other way, Because the world passes you by so fast that it could lead some people astray.

I am a very passionate winsome lad,my name is Vusumzi Mathews Sono born in the year of 1989 the 28th of December and I was born here in South Africa at a place called Cape Town, grew up in Eastern Cape.Vusi is a nickname coming from my full name Vusumzi and Oulik is just a nickname given by friends it is a Afrikaans name and it means "cute" .I never knew that one day I would be enthusiastic about poetry, but I loved writting since primary school, but then we used to just write songs that didn't even make sense but because I've never had an easy life as a child so I took out my emotions on writing as I was writing I noticed that everything I wrote was just poetic even at school when we were suppose to do orals, presentations or just anything I ended up flowing poetically, then that is when I found my first love "POETRY" inspired by roman ancient movies and some of Celine Dion's songs e.g the titanic song.
I write out my emotions, as every poet does of course. I am a passionate believer that poetry indeed is not just merely told, or thought, it is felt with the heart. True poetry is an extension of one's soul on paper, to touch other's souls in order for the author to be understood or to tell a story. I am Josiah, I am 17 years old. Most of my other poems were written to a girl I was infatuated with, and got my heart miserably broken, but we are best friends now. I still love to write about love though; nowadays my more romantic poems are directed to a wonderful young woman who I regard as the one. She is a true blessing. My other poems are about beautiful things, or my mental hardships that plague me, but are not forever. I hope all of you thoroughly enjoy my poetry.
My first memories of writing begin in elementary school when one teacher assigned our class to write a story. He made some very encouraging comments and a writer was born. I have stacks of poems and songs collected over the years. I recently began blogging and found this site and am happy to share some of my work here. I hope you will let me know when you are inspired or touched by what I share with you. You, my readers, inspire me.
Hello, my name is Liana Medina and as you may have already read i am a beginner poet. I never thought i was able to write poetry, until one day i wrote Darkness's Grasp, which is one of the poems you will read soon. I have recently been keeping a book of all my poems and currently have about 34 poems that i have written this year! Now i will warn you that some of my poetry is quite grotesc, and some have come from dreams and nightmares i have had. So that being said I would love some input and some advice on how to grow as a poet. so please feel free to let me know what you think, and i will be more than happy to the same for you.
* A creative minded Smart Girl.. * I do my thing and you do yours... I am not in this world to live up to your expectations, and you are not in this world to live up to mine. * You are you and I am I, and if by chance we find each other, then it is beautiful. If not, it cant be helped. * I am you; you are me. You are the waves; I am the ocean. Know this and be free, be divine.
I was born in Alabama. Lived the first 9 years of my life in Florida, but then moved back to Alabama after my grandmother passed away to live in her house. I've been here ever since and I absolutely love it. I am married to a wonderful man who is my best friend. I'm surrounded by my family and friends and beautiful nature. I am a follower of Christ. I've always loved to write. When I was little, I would write my parents little notes and slide them underneath the door of whatever room they were in. I just loved to touch people through my words. Verbally and on paper. When I became a teenager, I started to write random poetry for fun, but also for school. I realized that it wasn't homework for me to write, it was a joy. My poetry streak really took off at the age of 15. Now, having recently turned 30, I have been through a lot in the past decade and have not written as much as i used to. Ups and downs, highs and lows, defeats and victories...you name it. I've felt a lot of different emotions and thought many thoughts. And I've composed quite a few poems and written many songs through it all. So, this is my place to share them with the world, to touch others through my words. I hope they mean something to you. Thank you.
Grew up on a little gem in the Caribbean, a tourist attraction the eyes never misses. There I had my education, primary through college. Life has always been a challenge but with God I keep climbing, and my dreams are slowing becoming. Writer, teacher, website owner of https://www.livingtoreachacme.com/ and more. Always loved poetry. I dreamed of poetry, tried but never thought I was good enough. Today, I am here, I stand only by the Grace of God. He is just so awesome!!!!
Blurb Saleha Begum is a writer and artist living in Birmingham. She was short-listed for the Muslim Writers award in 2011. 'Ruptures and Fragments', her first collection, combines poems with visual art. Drawn from a wide variety of sources and experiences, the poems explore human relationships, sometimes joyous, sometimes brutal, and the psyche, diving deep into the human condition, sorting and arranging, compartmentalising the external and what we are. This collection might leave the reader in a quandary but it will no doubt intrigue and encourage debate. Review "Shouting from the margins of society this is an engaging experimental collection that captures the stoicism of 21st century feminism through a combination of poetry and artistic metaphor. Saleha Begum exposes the ruptures and fragments of relationships and cultural identity through a nomadic style of wordplay that journeys both paradox and the de ja vu of similar experience." Antony Owen, author of 'The dreaded boy' "Saleha's poetry seems to dance and tease the mind, painting poignant images as they go. Lovely." Giovanni "Spoz" Esposito, Birmingham Poet Laureate 2006/7

Most of what I write or enjoy reading has a significant amount of word relationships and phrasing that evoke imagery. Whether it's prose on people or life or metered rhyming verses I find that the way they read should have not just metaphor, word plays, and all other typical "poetic" usage, but should also have a visual quality that is some what like painting or illustration. I'm not saying I do this well in my own writing but I'm merely stating what I am going for as an artist. Like anything creative, the more of yourself you put into it and dedicate time to, the better it ultimately becomes. The collection of poems that are subtitled Nest in the Black Tree is a series of concept pieces. The setting is in the Bad Lands (purgatory). When a "Soul" has been born it belongs to the Watch Tower(God). Once one is created the Clock Maker creates a "vessel"(a human body). The Time Keeper starts the Heart-Break-Timer and this would be the life one is given from begining, life, old age, and the end. When the timer runs out the soul must be delivered back to the Watch Tower, but to do so is tasked by the Sprinter(an angel). The Sprinter takes the soul across the Bad Lands running as God's Speed. The Bad Lands are filled by an evil race known as the Wretched. The Wretches are ruled by the war machine Brontus Singlairn. Brontus wants the souls the Sprinters carry to turn them from a life into a Wretch(demon). The Poems are free-verse prose left open to to the imagination of the reader and to the foundation of the story. "Space, Universe, Stars" are part of the idea of creating a setting, being that this is a place of the in "between", and also is a way to give a little more poetic depth. One day I would hope to get the "The Nest and the Black Tree" published. This is where you, the reader, comes in to give me comments and ideas for this evolving story. —Nicholas Gress —Saidwhattha
Born in North Carolina, moved around a lot throughout my life, dad was in the military. Moved to a small town in Northern Michigan when I was 8 years old. I'm the middle child with two other brothers, some call me a troublemaker, but I am just a wild and free being that cannot stand "normal"... I like to make the best of all situations, good or bad, I keep smiling BIG and stay optimistic through all my hardships and pursue all my dreams. Life is love and I embrace it. So, fuck back then I'm the shit right now!
My life is one big blur of broken and lost love by the one I loved the most for the shortest period of time and I'm spending the rest of my life distracting myself of my brokenness and forever waiting for my dearest. > On top of that I come from a long past of death, mourning and despair. My gone father, my hero, a fallen soldier. My brother, never got to see the essence of this world, lost his breath at birth in the hospital. My mother, cheated on, beaten on, went head to head against death, passed through jail cells, but you will always see her with a smile, that's my guardian angel, the only thing/one/person I have left. ~ That is all you need to know about me.
