The Old Man of Qanub Inspired Natural Wisdom

The flame flickered, shadows danced on the wall
The pungent scent of holy incense filled the room
Layers of exotic oily smoke floated upon the ether
Sat reading a scroll, the old scholar inhaled the air
Filling his lungs with the musky aroma of incense
The fumes tickled his nose, his nostrils a tingling
The scent entered his mind, making it start racing
His intellect invigorated, neurons began to fire up
The scroll he was reading, digesting to transliterate
Took on new meaning, ancient words came to life
Secrets were revealed thanks to the effect of smoke
Incense of wisdom is the scholar’s mind lubrication
Helping him to decipher hidden meaning, and nuance
A lung full of thick herbil smoke gives pause to think
The stink of smouldering joss sticks are illuminating
Shining a light on man’s mind and sparking curiosity
A scholar of occult manuscripts is enriched by herb
The huge glowing oily resin cone is still glowing red
The room fills with mystic smoke empowering mind
With pen in his old hand he takes notes on esoteria
A wise adept fuelled by his favourite sticky incense
His senses are heightened and thinking augmented
He’ll always keep a qanub stick smoking filling lung
Sat in his study amid clouds of heavenly smoke vision
An old scholar knows qanub is salubrious for wisdom
