America’s Commitment
As Putin the Terrible
sends his Russian troops
Into the sovereign nation of Ukraine
We must make a commitment
to assist our democratic partners
Even if (and especially if)
they share a border with Russia.
Doing anything less
takes us back to the 1930s
And we know how badly
that turned out.
This was written on the first day of the war in February of 2022.
