Europe is burning
When I was there ten weeks ago
Portugal seemed most charming.
But today the fires raging there
Are utterly alarming.
Then I witnessed only blue
When I looked up toward the sky.
But now it’s filled with acrid smoke
And we all know the reason why.
Summers are growing ever hotter
As our world goes up in smoke.
The planet’s turning against us now
And sadly, this is not a joke.
