Money can’t always protect you
Not everyone in Florida is wealthy
But there’s no doubt that some of them are.
They stuffed their portfolios with dollars
Because that’s what’s preferred, by far.
Cash is a cushion that wards off hunger
Dinero ensures the boat’s filled with gas
While money provides some security
It can’t always protect your own ass.
Legal tender won’t keep the hurricanes at sea
Sometimes a few of them come onto shore
Nature can’t be bargained with or purchased
A/C doesn’t help when the power’s no more.
Whatever the losses you’ve suffered
There’s no doubt they could be severe
Be grateful for all that you still have
In the upcoming weeks, months, or years.
