Alma's Grace

This poem was written for my aunt who passed away!

Alma’s Grace

The morning you left us, my body was off key.
I knew it was something, and in time I would see.
I called my mom at work, it wasn’t her voice I heard at all.
Her co-worker told me the news, My heart became heavy as i traveled down the hall.

It was September 21st, I would say to you my last words.
If I could, I would if I knew you’d be gone on the Third.

I know you remember we ate and laughed for hours, like time had no end.
Of course you had a secret; the time, the date, the place, but only God will know when.
We all said see you later and you said a sweet goodbye.
You know with the cute little laugh that you’d always end with a sigh.

I’ll cherish that moment forever as you would want me to do.
This poem that I writing is made especially just for you.
I wish I could live that day over once again.
I’m sure we’ll cross paths one day. Because auntie this is far from the end.

We’ll crack jokes and laugh out loud, until we’re red in the face.
A glass of wine for us both as we meet in that special place.
You’re pretty as always and silly as can be
New purse for you Auntie, that God will take you to see.

White wings trimmed in Gold, You’d rock with pride
You’ll twist and turn, no need for you to hide.
I can see you now, a smile upon your face.
Your class and style, why else would I write a poem and title it Alma’s Grace?
