Ruby, sapphire, emerald, garnet,
Amethyst, aquamarine, diamond, pearl,
Peridot, opal, topaz, and turquoise
They are the recipients of a person’s sole existence
Towards their birth right into this world
As we are brought into the atmosphere of life
Our birthstones are aided by another aspect of preference,
Gold or silver
These elements are polar opposites yet live in the same family
They aid us towards our journey of achievement
Gold and silver; undergo a special craftsmanship
In order for it to be appealing
Gold was used as an agent for gaining money and power
Year 1948, California had an abundance of settlers barging in
The settlers infiltration was to gain that nugget; their pearl from the vast blue
Once in their grasp, nothing else mattered
“Money speaks out the Devil’s name in other words it is the root of all evil.”
Gold blinded every man, creating negative auras of possessiveness and greed, a sin
Silver is the symbol for quality but also was a vital aspect of
Creating bullets capable of penetrating through anything for firearms
Silver’s use in the line of cosmetics, creates a sharp edge, but softens the
Features creating a dramatic yet alluring look
As both gold and silver carve their uses in history,
Both have their deterioration rates
That applies towards a human’s lifespan.
The future road from adolescence to adulthood,
Initiates an embarkment to success
Like the red sun rising over the horizon, establishing warmth
Their peak is gold
Since, in no other time, other than a faithful union
Are the humans shining radiantly with ambition
The downfall is after decades and decades go by
Their bodies will not be able to sustain the breakdown of
Senescence*
The progress is visible through hair and soon will unravel
Through the skin and if we are unlucky, we will become
Crippled to the point we are handicapped under a care of a nursing home
Gold and silver are values not just in the periodic table but also
Through the course of life
With Au and Ag, our bright flame will become illuminated in darkness
Like a candle blown out on our last breath to this world.
