Above the Land

Above the Land

We launch our dreams
Upon solid ground
We see the sky adorned by
Its mysterious blue ceiling
We take to flight to
Find where it ends

As we ascend, we see
The barley dancing with the wind
Meadows shrinking before us
God’s fruited plains all attired
In its emerald green robes

As we rise above it
All fades away
Into a distant mist, and the
Blue still remains aloft
That never ends

Oh sweet mystery of the skies
Reveal thy secrets to me
Fill me with God’s wisdom
For I am but a speck of dust
Blowing thru’ his infinite vastness
