Aerial Fires

Aerial fires lighting up the sky
Torches burning upward high

Rising up through the earthly gates
Into the sky as the meadow waits

Fanfare for the yawning of the morn
Rousing up the yonder fields of corn

Just in time for late summer’s harvest
For the gathering for all upon due request

An ode to the bounty of the earth
Of seasonal labors since nature’s birth

Then the autumn’s air as the cold winds blow
Waiting for summer’s sun again to glow
