Domestic Denials

Homeward bound for weary hearts
That one sweet place where we can rest
That spot in the world that we call our own
Constantly pulls us back to where we belong
Back to a place called home

Nomads have a place called home
That lives inside theirs hearts
Though they travel in unfamiliar places
Their home never goes away

Though adventure hearkens for a moment
We never lose sight of where we belong
To deny where our hearts call home
Is to alter the course of nature within us

All animals and creatures
Have a domestic providence
Called instinct
That dominates their lives

How can we deny
The domestic instinct
That lives within us?
Are we that different
From how nature
Functions?
