Fires of the Divine

Let there be light on the Earthen surface
as mankind warms himself from the frigid nights
as the fires of the divine
burn through the frozen skies
sending warmth to man to keep him alive,
supporting his dependence on his lifeline,
his food that keeps him alive,
his spirit that he needs to give him strength,
the voices that tell him to be grateful,
the memento that tells him not to forget
where the fires came from.

They send the warmth to the frozen gardens,
from Winter’s curse to Summer’s blessing,
that the dead shall rise again,
that the days will be filled with relief and pleasure,
that the Earth is the educator of life
on its rendezvous with the sun,
the one who’s suffused in wisdom,
that pleasure is built from the aftermath of pain
and its place in the being,
the place that cries out to be alleviated
from all distress that settled in,
that to know pain is to know pleasure
from the pleasure from its rising above it.

Earth and sky and its marriage to the sun,
the sacred fires from the mouth of the divine,
the goodwill cast about the land,
the eternal charity from the mind of the divine,
the plan carried out through the ages
that never deviates from its course,
the plan for the fires of the divine
to keep burning throughout all time.
