Misinterpretations

Misinterpretations

Counselors, in your noble position
With your applications from your learning
And your pillars entrenched in the ground.
The lore that you amassed through the ages
Comes to you and goes out in prudence.

Your vital commands to those in need
Are spoken with the utmost clarity and
Your truth never sways with the needs.
You are the quintessential man
That strives toward perfection.

What goes out sometimes
Falls upon deaf ears.
Misinterpretations are
Through no fault of yours.

Some hear the wrong advice
Even though it isn’t.
Some want to hear just
What they want to hear.
Some blame you for
What they thought you said.
Some follow up on
What they thought you said.

I wish I knew all
What counselors know, but
I’m glad I’m not qualified.
Misinterpretations can
Prove to be too costly.

I know somebody that told me that God told him to buy a typewriter. I asked him "What did you buy that for?" and he replied, "Because he told me to." What is he going to do with a typewriter when he should have bought a word processor? It seemed to me that he just thought that God told him to do it. God has nothing to do with the specifics, just the big decisions in life.
