Requiem for a Soldier
Lie in peace thy defender of freedom
who died upholding the laws of martyrdom
that’s engraved in the hearts of all fighting men
who fought like hell til the very end.
He rests his bones in the forgiving ground
and lies still without making a sound
as his soul marches up to the glorious Kingdom
to the beat of a convalescing drum
where all foes and warriors sup at the table
where peace is restored and love enabled.
