Running With Attitude

Attitude, those crossroads in the mind,
Whether to keep on pushing ahead,
To forget about the other team’s big lead,
To keep the faith in one’s self,
To honor the Holy Spirit’s presence,
To live up to God’s expectations in us,
To perform like winners do,
Despite the odds of not succeeding,
Is being grateful for the gift
And using it to the
Best of our capabilities,
Of playing football
That God granted us.

Attitude, those crossroads in the mind,
Whether to give up,
When the other team is way ahead,
When victory is beyond obtainable,
When the Holy Spirit is still relevant,
But the mind says it isn’t,
When it tells the body to quit,
When the self-esteem lowers itself,
When losing is the expected outcome,
When it becomes the accommodating outcome,
When it defines the character in us,
When there is no winning spirit left,
When we are in disaccord with the Holy Spirit,
When we choose to ignore it,
When God is no longer in control,
Is letting one’s alienation
Dictate his attitude.

It is easy to give up,
But winning teams work to
Instill a moralistic attitude in every player.
Teamwork is as much spiritual
As it is physical.
